Since Hungary joined the European Union (“EU”) in May 2004, Hungarian employment law has been gradually expounded especially in course of the effectuation of one basic EU principle concerning the Free Movement of Workforce within the territory of the EU and a number of EU directives. In a wider sense, the globalization of the world marketplace increased the common need dramatically in managing a global workforce. Our Employment Focus Group is to help employers comply with the law, prevent unwanted issues from arising and continuously adapt to the realities and challenges redundancy of an intensely competitive global economy. Furthermore, we also provide our clients with legal counseling on questions concerning the application of internal/company HR policies in light of the relevant Hungarian laws, cross-border transactions and assignments. We provide our clients with extensive legal counseling considering the dual effect of the corporate management’s HR decisions on corporate law and labour law. In addition, we participate in negotiations of management level employment contracts, draft executive employment contracts, management agreements and amendments thereto.
